Changing How Lactation Support Feels

The Drop was created to change how lactation support is experienced, by making it more connected, more culturally relevant, and more rooted in community. Too often, mothers are left searching for answers during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, while lactation professionals navigate systems that don’t always value their work. We knew there had to be a better way.

At the Drop

We Bring Both Sides together

  • FOR MOTHERS

It’s a place to find trusted lactation counselors and IBCLCs in Michigan that represent them, access clear breastfeeding education, and feel supported in ways that reflect real life.

  • FOR PROFESSIONALS

It’s a space to grow through meaningful education, connect with a community that understands the work, and be part of something that’s pushing lactation care forward.

This platform isn’t built on transactions, it’s built on trust, shared experience, and the belief that everyone deserves access to quality lactation support.

We've created a space where

Knowledge flows, community is prioritized, and both families and professionals are supported every step of the way.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Shonté created The Drop after seeing the gaps firsthand, where families struggled to find the right support, and where lactation professionals, especially those from underrepresented communities, weren’t always valued or connected. The Drop is her response: a space where mothers can access trusted lactation counselors and IBCLCs of color, and where professionals can grow, learn, and build community.

This isn’t just a platform—it’s a commitment to doing lactation support differently, with care, clarity, and intention.
